Biography
David Gebhardt was born in Mainz am Rhein in 1999 and received his first trumpet lessons at the age of twelve from Ingmar Kreibohm. From 2016 to 2017, he completed a pre-college program at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz.
During this time, he participated in international tours to Korea and the USA with the Rhineland-Palatinate State Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Since 2018, he has been studying artistic and instrumental pedagogy subjects, initially at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts and later at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden, where he studied with well-known teachers such as Prof. Till Brönner and Prof. Malte Burba. He is active as a freelance musician across genres, with a repertoire ranging from various types of jazz to rock and pop, contemporary music, and his own compositions.
Since 2023, David has been playing as a trumpeter in the German National Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO). In this role, he collaborates with highly talented young musicians and renowned bandleaders, and has participated in tours through Germany as well as to Montenegro and Ecuador.
In 2024, he completed his Bachelor of Music with top marks, began his master's studies in Dresden, and became a member of the Burba®Brass network.
